Software Engineer I (634-1600)

Position Summary:

Software Engineer will support software development and test of concepts and algorithms for the Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) Traffic Management system (UTM). Software Engineer will work in a small team of highly motivated software developers and aviation researchers that is central to the national effort to safely manage the widespread use of UAS in low-altitude airspace. The incumbent will collaborate with the Technical Lead and the Software Lead.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

Work productively in a team environment

Develop software, maintain and upgrade current software, prepare documentation

Other job related duties as assigned
 

Required Qualifications:

Education:   B.S. degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related degree

Experience:  

0-2 years of experience of developing software and knowledge of software development cycle, object-oriented software design and development, Java patterns

Software development and knowledge of software development cycle, object oriented software design, software testing

Java experience

Experience with maintenance and upgrade of current software, new code generation and documentation
