The University seeks to appoint a new member of staff to work in the area of pulsar astrophysics to strengthen and develop the research of the Pulsar Group of the Jodrell Bank Centre for Astrophysics.
The successful applicant will be expected to take an active role in the continuing development of the world class programme of research using pulsars for a wide variety of applications linking astronomy and astrophysics with fundamental physics. In addition, the applicant should possess the ability to teach at both undergraduate and postgraduate level; he/she will have a strong research record and will be expected to demonstrate the ability to attract external funding. The applicant should also have experience in the observational and instrumental aspects of pulsar astrophysics and should show commitment to the development and exploitation of future radio-astronomical facilities.
Salary will be within the range £36,533 - £44,931 pa according to experience and qualifications. The appointment will be permanent and could be on a full-time or part-time basis.
