*Are you ready to contribute to the radio astronomy revolution?
*Want to join a team dedicated making a difference to astronomy?
*Here's a chance to set your Postdoc career on the right path.
The Square Kilometre Array (SKA), being planned by a consortium of 34 organisations from 15 countries, will provide a sensitivity 100 times greater than the best radio telescopes today. CSIRO (Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation) http://www.csiro.au is now constructing the Australian Square Kilometre Array Pathfinder (ASKAP) a next-generation radio telescope that is on the strategic pathway towards the staged development and deployment of the SKA. http://www.atnf.csiro.au/projects/askap/science.html
What makes ASKAP revolutionary is ?Phased Array Feed? (PAF) technology that employs digital processing of the fully sampled wavefront at the telescope focus to increase the useful image field 100-fold.
You're invited to apply for one of the three Super Science Fellowships at CSIRO Astronomy and Space Science (CASS previously ATNF), Australia's premier radio astronomical facility http://www.csiro.au/science/AstronomyFacilities.html. You will need a PhD in astronomy, astrophysics or related disciplines or you will be close to satisfying the requirements for such a PhD and have radio synthesis imaging expertise.
You'll work with the CSIRO team to develop and implement the next generation of ?Phased Array Feeds? for Radio Astronomy.
