The Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array (ALMA), an international astronomy facility, is a partnership of Europe, North America and East Asia in cooperation with the Republic of Chile.

Applications are invited for the position of Associate Professor at ALMA-J Project Office. We are seeking applicants with an outstanding experience in the radio telescope system and radio astronomy, in particular, millimeter/submillimeter astronomy. The successful applicant is expected
(i) to promote cutting edge research programs with ALMA for East Asian communities,
(ii) to organize multiwavelength collaboration and/or multidisciplinary collaboration with ALMA for East-Asian communities
(iii) to host conferences and workshops to stimulate collaboration for ALMA
(iv) to contribute to the graduate-level education in Physics and/or Astronomy (in case of employment in Mitaka)

Job location: Mitaka, Tokyo, Japan, or Santiago, Chile

Starting date: As soon as possible.

Appointment: tenure

Qualification: PhD degree or equivalent experience is required. Experience as a tenure or tenure-track faculty position will be preferable. Fluency in Japanese will be preferable.
