The Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array (ALMA), an international astronomy facility, is a partnership of Europe, North America and East Asia in cooperation with the Republic of Chile.
Applications are invited for the position of Assistant Professor at ALMA-J Project Office. We are seeking applicants with an outstanding experience in the radio telescope system and radio astronomy, in particular, millimeter/submillimeter astronomy. The successful applicant is expected
(i) to promote research programs with ALMA for East Asian communities,
(ii) to organize multiwavelength collaboration and/or multidisciplinary collaboration with ALMA for East-Asian communities
(iii) to host conferences and workshops to stimulate collaboration for ALMA
Job location: Mitaka, Tokyo, Japan, or Santiago, Chile
Starting date: As soon as possible.
Appointment: 5-year tenure-track
Qualification: PhD degree or equivalent experience is required. Fluency in Japanese will be preferable.
