The galaxy and cosmology group at Purple Mountain Observatory, Chinese Academy of Science, invites applicants for two post-doctoral positions. The research interests of the group includes theoretical modeling of galaxy formation and evolution, gravitational lensing, numerical simulation of large-scale structures and star formation. Applicants with experience in these topics are encouraged to apply for these positions. The salary depends on qualification and experience, and will be highly competitive.
The galaxy and cosmology group is a newly established partner group between PMO and Max-Planck-institute for Astronomy, located in Nanjing which is one hour from Shanghai by high-speed train. The research work of the partner group is related to the Chinese Antarctic Observatory which will host two facilities, 2.5 meters optical/infrared telescope and 15 meters Tera-hertz telescope.
