The Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array (ALMA), an international astronomy facility, is a partnership of Europe, North America and East Asia in cooperation with the Republic of Chile.
Applications are invited for the position of Associate Professor at NAOJ ALMA Project Office. The successful candidate is assumed to play a key role in the NAOJ ALMA Project Office for the operation of the ALMA telescope in collaboration with Joint ALMA Observatory in Chile and North American and European ALMA partners, for the enhancement of collaboration with East Asian ALMA parternes and for ALMA science promotion in East Asia.

Job location: Mitaka, Tokyo, Japan or Santiago, Chile
Starting date: As soon as possible.
Appointment: tenure
Qualifications and experience required for this position:
PhD degree or equivalent experience is required.
Knowledge of millimeter and submillimeter astronomy.
Experience with multi-disciplined projects.
Excellent oral and written communication skills. Experience as a tenure or tenure-track faculty position will be preferable.
Fluency in Japanese will be preferable.
