The Institute of Astronomy at National Tsing Hua University invites applicants in all research areas of astronomy and astrophysics for a number of faculty positions to start in the 2013-2014 academic year. Rankings of assistant, associate, and full professorship will be all considered, depending on the candidate qualification. Current research activities at NTHU/IoA involve theoretical investigations and observations of compact objects, evolution of galaxies, and star and planet formation with facilities like Chandra, XMM, Fermi, Suzaku, Swift, Hubble, Spitzer, CFHT, SMA, ALMA, etc. On-going instrumentation projects include the Nuclear Compton Telescope (NCT) in collaboration with UCB/SSL, an optical observing network for exoplanet transit, and a high-speed photometer in collaboration with Paris Observatory. Successful candidates are expected to teach at both undergraduate and graduate levels, and to develop internationally competitive research programs. Research experiences beyond Ph.D. are preferred.
