The School of Physics at the University of Melbourne invites applications for 2 continuing (tenure track) positions within its Astrophysics group. These are offered at the levels of Lecturer (level B) and Senior Lecturer (level C). Preference will be given to applicants with research interests in theoretical cosmology and galaxy formation, however the positions are open to researchers in all areas of extragalactic astrophysics.

The School of Physics comprises some 23 tenured academic staff, 50 research-only staff, and more than 95 postgraduate students. The School has six research groups including Astrophysics, Theoretical Particle Physics, and Experimental Particle Physics, providing a vibrant collaborative environment. The Astrophysics group currently undertakes a broad range of theoretical, observational and computational research programs in topics including cosmology, gravitational lensing, and relativistic and particle astrophysics.
