Postdoctoral Research Associate, Interstellar Medium
Applications are invited for a postdoctoral research associate at the Department of Astronomy, UW Madison in the field of interstellar medium (ISM) studies. The successful applicant will collaborate with Professor Snezana Stanimirovic and her research group. Possible research projects include (but are not limited to) interpretation of HI absorption spectra, close comparison between ISM observations and numerical simulations, and early stages of molecule and star formation. Applicants with background in observations, theory, and numerical simulations are encouraged to apply. Preference will be given to scientists whose research is broadly related to observational studies of the ISM.
A PhD in astronomy, astrophysics, or a closely related discipline is required. The appointment is initially for two years, with a possible extension for the third year based on satisfactory performance. The exact start date is negotiable.
