The ETH Zurich invites applications for postdoctoral positions to work in the research group of Marcella Carollo at the Institute for Astronomy in the Department of Physics.
The Institute has active research groups in observational and theoretical cosmology, extragalactic astrophysics, star- and planet-formation, exoplanet and stellar astrophysics. Switzerland is a full member of ESO and ESA and the Institute has guaranteed access to high performance supercomputing clusters. Marcella Carollo is a member of the Dark Energy Survey and of the MUSE instrument consortium for the ESO Very Large Telescope.
Applications are particularly invited from scientists interested in working on the DES and MUSE projects, with emphasis on the dependence on environmental conditions of galaxy structural and star formation properties, and their redshift evolution. The position is for three years (2+1) although further extensions are possible. The salary will be 84,700 - 93,300 CHF, depending on experience.
