The Department of Physical Sciences at Universidad Andres Bello invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level in the area of numerical galaxy formation, although researchers working in related areas could also be considered. Candidates should have a PhD in Astronomy or Physics and postdoctoral experience.
The successful candidate is expected to join the research and teaching activities of the Department of Physical Sciences and to strongly interact with our students. The candidate will be eligible to apply to 10% of all the telescope time in Chile, including ALMA, VLT, Gemini, Magellan and APEX. Commitment to teach at both undergraduate and graduate level in physics and astronomy is required. The candidate is expected to be able to teach in Spanish within a year.
