Faculty Position in Theoretical Studies of the Early Universe
The Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of California, Riverside, (UCR) invites highly qualified individuals to apply for a tenure-track faculty position in Theoretical Studies of the Early Universe, including the overlapping areas of cosmology, theoretical particle physics, astroparticle physics and relativistic heavy ion physics. The appointment will be made at the assistant professor level.
The main selection criterion will be demonstrated excellence in research. The successful candidate is expected to establish an outstanding, well-funded research program involving graduate students and post-doctoral scientists, and to contribute to departmental teaching at all levels. He or she will also be expected to complement and strengthen the current research effort in theoretical physics and to interact with the experimental/observational groups in physics and astronomy. The Physics and Astronomy Department at UCR is currently active in theoretical/experimental high energy physics, relativistic heavy ion physics, observational astronomy/cosmology and theoretical/experimental condensed matter physics.
Candidates for this position are required to have a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in physics or a related field. Salary will be competitive and commensurate with qualification. Applicants should submit a letter of application, curriculum vitae including list of publications, and a research proposal. They should also arrange to have four letters of recommendation sent to the search committee by the deadline. Electronic submission of the applications and the recommendation letters is preferred. For any enquiries, please contact the Search Committee Chair, Professor Ernest Ma ( HYPERLINK "mailto:ernest.ma@ucr.edu" ernest.ma@ucr.edu).
