The Center for Astronomy and Astrophysics (CAA), a new research center established at Shanghai JiaoTong University (SJTU) invites applications for tenure-track positions in all frontier fields of astronomy and astrophysics. SJTU is one of top a few universities in China, and the CAA is setup to become a research center of excellence. The faculty position is expected to carry out independent research projects, to supervise students, and to develop astrophysics courses for our new concentration in astrophysics within the physics major program. The positions are intended for researchers of all nationality at levels of associate professors or professors. The salary is above 250000 RMB (~40000 USD) annually and a comprehensive package of start-up research fund and housing subsidy is provided, depending on qualification and experience. The research center has very good computer facilities, ample research funds, and an active visitors program. Observers are especially encouraged to apply as China is starting some big observational programs, and CAA is one of the main participating institutes.
