The Department of Physics and the Joint Space Science Institute (JSI) at the University of Maryland at College Park invites applications for a postdoctoral fellowship in the areas of theoretical and computational high-energy astrophysics and gravitational physics. Outstanding candidates with interests in relativistic astrophysics or computational astrophysics are particularly encouraged to apply. The fellow would hold the title of JSI scientist and work with Prof. McKinney and other JSI members.

Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in physics or astrophysics or an equivalent degree. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience, with a competitive stipend and research/travel expenses. The position will initially be for two years and may be extended up to three years, depending on satisfactory performance and availability of funding.

Deadline for a complete application is Dec 1, 2012. Announcements will be made by Jan 10, 2013.
