Successful candidates develop their own research program and receive funding for two PhD students and start-up funds, as well as an annual budget supporting their research.

Candidates should cover one of the following research topics (T=theory, E=experiment):

1. New algorithms for parallel computing (T) 2. Stellar evolution and quantitative spectroscopy (T) 3. CP violation in multibody final states at BELLE II (E) (E) 4. Messenger for new physics: phenomenology of non-standard neutrino properties (T) 5. Strings and observables - connecting strings and black holes in particle physics and gravity (T) 6. Model independent search for physics beyond the standard model (E) 7. Interplay between direct and indirect searches for new physics (T) 8. Formation and evolution of the cosmic large-scale structure (E) 9. Direct dark matter search with a cryogenic multi-target detector (E) 10.
