Applications are invited for a postdoctoral scholar position to work with Prof. Jane Charlton and collaborators. The successful applicant will work on quasar absorption lines from intervening absorbers, intrinsic absorbers, and Milky Way high velocity clouds. The postdoctoral scholar will be responsible to analyze data from the Cosmic Origins Spectrograph on the Hubble Space Telescope, and to carry out photoionization models.
A Ph.D. in astronomy, physics, or a related field is required, and research experience on quasar absorption lines is highly desirable.
Experience with optical and UV spectra reduction and analysis, and/or photoionization modeling would be a significant advantage.
