Applications are invited for a postdoctoral position in Theoretical and Computational Astrophysics to work with Professor Enrico Vesperini in the Department of Astronomy at Indiana University, Bloomington.
Areas of research interest include formation and dynamical evolution of star clusters, multiple stellar populations in globular clusters, hydrodynamical, N-body and Fokker-Planck numerical simulations of globular cluster formation and evolution. Applications from candidates with experience in the observational study of star clusters and the comparison between theoretical models and observations are also encouraged.
The initial appointment will be for two years with extension to the third year depending on satisfactory progress. Start date is negotiable, but is expected to be August, 2013.
Applicants should submit (preferably in a single pdf file) a CV, publication list, statement of research interests and experience and arrange to have three reference letters sent by e-mail to Enrico Vesperini at evesperi@indiana.edu (or to the above address) by December, 10 2012. However, later applications will be accepted until the position is filled.
