The Astronomy Department at the University of California, Berkeley, invites applications for a Postdoctoral Fellowship, starting in the Summer or Fall of 2013. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on observations and analysis involving the Gemini Planet Imager Survey, Keck Observatory, and Lick Observatory. The Astronomy Department is an attractive setting for postdoctoral research, with world-class programs spanning a diverse range of astrophysical topics---of particular interest are vigorous observational activities in exoplanets and theoretical investigations of star and planet formation conducted under the auspices of the Center for Integrative Planetary Science and the Theoretical Astrophysics Center.
The appointment is for two years with a potential extension to three years. The salary, which will be commensurate with qualifications and experience, is negotiable.
Candidates should have obtained their Ph.D. (in astrophysics or a related field) by date of hire. Required application materials include a CV, bibliography, a statement of research interests and plans, and the names and contact information of three individuals who may be asked to provide a recommendation letter.
