The High Energy Physics Institute in Barcelona, Spain, (IFAE, http://www.ifae.es) is seeking candidates for a postdoctoral position to work on observational cosmology with large galaxy surveys. The institute is a full member of the Dark Energy Survey (DES, http://www.darkenergysurvey.org) and the new PAU (http://www.pausurvey.org) and Euclid (http://sci.esa.int/euclid) surveys, and it closely collaborates with the Space Science Institute (ICE/IEEC-CSIC, http://www.ice.csic.es/en/), located in the same campus, in all three projects.
After holding major responsibilities in the construction of the DES and PAU cameras, IFAE is now getting ready to exploit the science opportunities that the DES and PAU surveys will open. DES will start routine survey operations in late 2012, while PAU will start in spring 2013. The successful candidate will have the oportunity to participate in one or more of the above-mentioned projects, and will be encouraged to pursue her/his research interests in cosmology. Initially, the position is for one year, renovable for up to two more years, subject to the candidate's performance and the availability of funding. Appointments can start as early as February 2013, and preferably not later than September 2013.
