The Institute for Theoretical Physics (ITP) at the University of Zurich invites applications for postdoctoral positions in theoretical or computational astrophysics and cosmology. Candidates should be able to carry out a vigorous research program and interact with Institute students, postdocs and faculty (which includes Jetzer, Lake, Mayer, Moore, Saha, Seljak, Stadel & Teyssier). Appointments are initially for two years with a possibility of further extensions. Postdoctoral salaries are in the range 85,000-90,000 CHF.
Applicants will also be considered for the joint Berkeley-Zurich postdoctoral positions, as well as for more senior postdoctoral fellowships to support particularly advanced postdoctoral candidates to develop an independent research activity. Scientific computing infrastructure is very strong and includes the zbox4 supercomputer and strong connections with the Swiss supercomputing centre in Lugano.
