Applications are invited for a postdoctoral research position at the University of Chile in Santiago. The successful candidate is expected to conduct independent research and to work with Profs. Luis Campusano and Ricardo Muñoz in studies of large scale structure, cluster search, galaxy evolution, dark matter in clusters, and their relation with cosmological expectations. Experience with ground based imaging and spectroscopy, multiwavelenght and numerical simulations databases, and gravitational lens modeling, would be an asset. The appointment is for two years, starting as early as January but not later than June 2013, with renewal for a third year subjected to performance and funding. The appointee, holding a PhD, will be incorporated to a team from the Astronomy and Physics departments recently awarded a CONICYT Grant (ACT1122 "Testing fundamental theories through cosmological and astrophysical observations"). The UCHILE Astronomy Department hosts a strong research program in astrophysics and provide a stimulating environment. Additional resources include access to telescope time on astronomical facilities operating in Chile. Candidates should submit a cv, list of publications, a statement of research interests, and arrange for three letters of recommendation. Full consideration will be given to applications received by December 15th 2012. Email all materials, including letters, to cosmopostdoc@das.uchile.cl. For questions or inquiries, write to lcampusa@das.uchile.cl.
