Applicants are invited for a postdoctoral position based in the Kavli Institute for Astronomy and Astrophysics (KIAA) at Peking University. The successful applicant will be expected to work on projects of mutual interests with Prof. Qingjuan Yu in astrophysics, including topics on massive black holes, galactic dynamics, galaxy formation and evolution, and encouraged to carry out independent and original research.
Peking University is one of the premier universities in Asia, and is the host to the KIAA. With English as the working language, KIAA is designed to be an international center of excellence in astrophysics, a forum for global scientific exchange, an incubator for innovative projects, and a training center for international postdocs and students. The appointment of the position will be for two years with a possibility for a third. The successful applicant will be provided a research budget. The possible starting dates are July 1 and Oct 1, 2013. The applicant should have obtained a PhD in Astronomy, Physics, or a related field by the effective date.
