Applications are invited for a postdoctoral scholar position in the Department of Astronomy at Case Western Reserve University.  The successful candidate will work with Professor Stacy McGaugh on observations of galaxies with an emphasis on 21 cm observations and the analysis of velocity fields or other topics of mutual interest.  The initial appointment will be for one year with the possibility of up to two additional years.

 

Interests in the CWRU Astronomy Department include galaxy formation and evolution, galaxy dynamics, cosmology and large scale structure, and chemical abundances.  The department owns and operates the Burrell Schmidt telescope at Kitt Peak.  The CWRU Physics Department has strengths in astro-particle physics and cosmology.  Both departments are part of the Center for Education and Research in Cosmology and Astrophysics.
