Applications are invited for a Fortner Postdoctoral Research Associate to begin in August 2013. This program has been established in the Department of Physic at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign to provide outstanding young theoretical astrophysicists with an opportunity to pursue forefront research with members of the Astrophysics and General Relativity Group, including Profs. Charles Gammie, Fred Lamb, Susan Lamb, Telemachos Mouschovias, Fabian Schmidt, Stuart Shapiro, and Jon Thaler and with affiliated faculty in the Astronomy Department, including Profs. Neal Dalal and Brian Fields. Members of the group have interests in black hole and neutron star astrophysics, computational astrophysics, star and planet formation, cosmology, structure formation, weak lensing, compact objects, numerical relativity, DES, LSST and LIGO, and nuclear and particle astrophysics.
