Applications are invited for a postdoctoral position in the measurement of weak gravitational lensing. The postdoc will work with Professor Gary Bernstein on the development of lensing methods for the Euclid space mission, with opportunities for applications to nearer-term data. Candidates should have demonstrated talent with challenging data reductions. Experience with weak lensing observations is a plus, but not required. This position is contingent upon NASA selection of our proposal to join the Euclid effort.
The University of Pennsylvania Physics and Astronomy Department hosts a vibrant astrophysics research program. UPenn collaborates on several cosmology projects including DES, ACT, PAPER, and the LSST. UPenn has also established the Center for Particle Cosmology to support research at the interface of cosmology and fundamental physics.
Applications materials should be received by January 4 for full consideration. Applicants should send a CV and a brief description of research interests to the address above, and arrange for three letters of reference to be sent.
The University of Pennsylvania is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
UPenn postdocs are provided with individual health insurance. Applicants interested in terms of coverage for family members should contact Professor Bernstein. Further policies on postdoctoral employment are detailed at http://www.upenn.edu/almanac/volumes/v57/n01/postdocpolicy.html
