Applications are invited for the post of Postdoctoral Research Associate to work with Dr Jay Farihi at The Institute of Astronomy, University of Cambridge, UK on projects related to evolved planetary systems and binaries. In particular, focus will be on the detection and characterisation of debris in remnant planetary systems.
Applicants must have a PhD in Physics or Astronomy (or be near completion) and be familiar with the reduction and analysis of (optical and near-infrared) photometric and spectroscopic data. Experience with large databases and their exploitation will be an advantage, as would familiarity with Spitzer data.
This 3 year position is available from 1 March 2013 or as soon as possible thereafter. The salary scale will be £27,578 to £35,938 p.a. depending on experience plus superannuation benefits.
