The research will involve the analysis, interpretation and modelling of relativistic signatures in X-ray timing and spectral data from accreting black holes. The 3 year position is available from April 2013.
Applicants must have a Ph.D. (or be near completion) in X-ray Astronomy or a related field. Experience of the analysis and/or interpretation/modelling of X-ray data on accreting black holes preferred.
The salary scale will be £27,854 to £36,298 p.a. depending on experience plus superannuation benefits.
Applications must be made by the on-line system accessible at the link above. The names and contact details of three referees are a necessary part of the application.
