Applications are invited for a Fortner Postdoctoral Research Associate to begin in August 2014. This program has been established in the Department of Physics at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign to provide outstanding young theoretical astrophysicists with an opportunity to pursue forefront research with members of the Astrophysics and General Relativity Group, including Profs. Peter Adshead, Charles Gammie, Fred Lamb, Susan Lamb, Telemachos Mouschovias, Stuart Shapiro, and Jon Thaler and with affiliated theoretical faculty in the Astronomy Department, including Profs. Neal Dalal and Brian Fields. Members of the group have interests in black hole and neutron star astrophysics, computational astrophysics, star and planet formation, cosmology, structure formation, weak lensing, compact objects, numerical relativity, DES, LSST, LIGO, eLISA, and nuclear and particle astrophysics.
Applicants should go online at https://my.physics.illinois.edu/join/ to submit their application, which must include a cover letter, curriculum vitae, list of publications, brief description of research interests, and the names, mailing and email addresses of three references.
