Job Announcement Text:
The Centre for Star and Planet Formation (StarPlan) at the Natural History Museum of Denmark opens a two year postdoctoral fellowship in the field of protostellar chemical evolution. The preferred starting date is spring 2014. The focus of the position is the study of chemical evolution in protostars using numerical simulations. StarPlan is a DNRF research centre of excellence for astronomy, astrophysics and cosmochemistry. The main research theme of the centre is to explore the origin and evolution of stars and planetary systems using a multidisciplinary approach. There are no formal teaching obligations, however the successful applicant will have the opportunity to guide more junior fellows, teach courses at various levels, and organize international meetings. The centre carries out some of the largest current numerical simulations of star formation using world-class local and international computing resources, and it has access to observational data from ALMA and other large observatories. We seek a highly-motivated individual with a strong background in star formation to join a young, dynamic, and expanding research group. Candidates with experience in chemical networks and their application in numerical simulations are particularly encouraged to apply. Questions Requests for further information should be addressed to Troels Haugbølle (troels.haugboelle@snm.ku.dk) or Professor Martin Bizzarro (bizzarro@snm.ku.dk), head of StarPlan. Applications Applicants should send by e-mail a cover letter, CV, publication list, and a short statement of research interests and experience and arrange for two letters of reference to be sent to Troels Haugbølle (troels.haugboelle@snm.ku.dk). Deadline for applications is November 1st, 2013.
Included Benefits:

Postdoctoral Fellows receive a competitive salary currently starting about 39,000 DKK (€ 5,200) per month before tax including a mandatory 17% pension contribution, and will receive support for travel and computing. Generous parental leave, state-subsidized childcare, vacation, and full medical care are provided to all employees in Denmark. Most international researchers are eligible for a favorable tax scheme.
