The Steward Observatory of the University of Arizona solicits applications for the Steward Observatory Prize Postdoctoral Fellowship in Theoretical and Computational Astrophysics. The successful candidate will be encouraged to pursue both independent research and collaborative work with members of the theory group that includes faculty members D. Arnett, K. Kratter, F. Ozel, P. Pinto, D. Psaltis, B. Robertson, G. Besla, and A. Youdin.
The Steward Observatory is host to extensive computational resources that were recently acquired by members of the theory group. The fellow may also join the interdisciplinary Theoretical Astrophysics Program (TAP) that includes members of both the Lunar and Planetary Lab and the Physics department.
The fellow will receive an annual stipend of $60,000 and a research fund. This 3-year fellowship will commence in Fall 2014. Candidates must have completed all requirements for the Ph.D. in Astronomy or a related field before the starting date of the Fellowship.
