Job Announcement Text:

The Astronomy Department at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign invites applications for a postdoctoral position in observational cosmology with an anticipated starting date of August 16, 2014. The successful applicant will be expected to lead cosmological measurements primarily by using data from the Dark Energy Survey (DES) project. We are especially interested in candidates with experience in high performance computing, photometric surveys, and large scale structure measurements.  The position is for one year, with the possibility of renewal for an additional two years contingent on performance and continued funding.

The completed application will consist of a curriculum vitae, publication list, and a short statement of research interests. This information should be submitted as a single PDF file via electronic mail directly to Professor Robert Brunner (bigdog@illinois.edu). Applicants should also instruct three references to submit letters of recommendation to the same email address with the applicant's name in the subject field. A candidate must have received their PhD. in a field related to cosmology prior to the appointment.  Applications completed by December 15, 2013 will receive full consideration, and will be accepted until the position is filled.
