The Department of Chemistry, Biochemistry, and Physics in the College of Natural and Health Sciences at The University of Tampa invites applications for the tenure-track position of Assistant Professor of Physics starting in August 2014.
The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate excellence in undergraduate education, take an active role in the curricular development of the Physics program at UT, involve undergraduate students in research as part of the experiential learning mission of The University, and provide service to the department, the college and The University community.

A Ph.D. in physics, astronomy, or other closely related field is required. Postdoctoral experience, including a publication record in peer-reviewed journals, is preferred. Prior teaching and research experience with undergraduates is highly desirable
Candidates must be dedicated to undergraduate teaching, including both science and non-science majors, and developing a research program that will afford research opportunities to UT undergraduate students. Current physics faculty have active research programs in computational and observational astronomy, and preference will be given to applicants with research that adds to or complements these areas.
