The Konkoly Observatory of the Research Centre for Astronomy and Earth Sciences of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences in Budapest invites applications for two tenure-track research positions in any fields of astrophysics. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in physics, astronomy, or a closely related discipline. The successful candidates are expected to become strong contributors to the current research fields in the Observatory, or have a potential capability to initiate new research programs. The main research topics at the Konkoly Observatory include stellar structure/astroseismology, stellar activity, solar physics, exoplanets, star formation, and minor bodies in the Solar System. Applications for external funding are encouraged and supported by the Observatory. The applicants will have no teaching duties although participation in supervising PhD students is possible and encouraged. The earliest starting date of the position is January 1, 2014.
