Tenure-Track Assistant Professor of Astronomy
The Department of Physics, Astronomy, and Materials Science at Missouri State University seeks applications for a tenure-track position in astronomy at the Assistant Professor level. A Ph.D. in astronomy, or a closely-related field, is required. We seek an astronomer with a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching and research. Duties would include teaching undergraduate astronomy and physics courses; maintaining a research program, which must involve undergraduate students and lead to external grant funding; using the Missouri State University Baker Observatory for research and/or student training; and appropriate service. The anticipated starting date is August 11, 2014. Review of applications will begin November 4, 2013 and continue until a suitable candidate is found.
