The Department of Astronomy & Astrophysics at the University of California, Santa Cruz (UCSC) invites applications for a postdoctoral position in computational stellar spectroscopy. The successful candidate will work closely with Professor Charlie Conroy (UCSC) and Robert Kurucz (CfA) in the development of stellar spectroscopic models including calibration of fundamental atomic and molecular data. The work will require knowledge of probabilistic modeling, complex data analysis techniques, and significant computational skills. Preference will be given to candidates with expertise in the modeling of stellar atmospheres and spectra, although such expertise is not a requirement. The position starts in the summer or fall of 2014. Full details are given at the URL above.
Please submit applications electronically at the URL listed above by January 15, 2013. Applications must include a CV, publication list, statement of past research and future interests, and three letters of reference.
