The Observatories of the Carnegie Institution for Science in Pasadena, California invites applications for a postdoctoral associate position in observational astrophysics to begin September 1, 2014. The postdoc will join the Carnegie Hubble and Carnegie RR Lyrae Programs working with Drs. Wendy Freedman, Barry Madore and Eric Persson on photometric studies of Cepheid variables and RR Lyrae stars, and their application to galactic structure and the distance scale. Previous experience with stellar photometry, ground-based IR datasets and space-based Hubble and/or Spitzer imaging is highly desirable. The appointment will be for two years, with a possible third year extension based on performance and funding availability.
