Postdoctoral Position on LSST at Purdue University

Applications are invited for a postdoctoral position in astrophysics at Purdue University.  Purdue is an institutional member of the Large Synoptic Survey Telescope (LSST) Corporation and plays significant roles in the LSST project.  The successful candidate will be expected to actively participate in the activities of the LSST Dark Energy Science Collaboration, specifically in the investigation of systematic effects that might affect weak lensing measurements, in addition to pursue other scientific interests of his or hers.  Preference will be given to those that have had experience in cosmic shear or cluster lensing studies or in optical surveys.

The duration of this position is two years, with the possibility of renewal for an additional year contingent upon satisfactory progress and continued funding.  Applicants must hold a Ph.D. degree or equivalent in physics or astronomy.  To apply, please email a cover letter, CV, and statement of research experience and interests, and also arrange for three letters of recommendation to be sent to Professor Wei Cui (cui@purdue.edu) by March 1, 2014.  Applications will be reviewed as they arrive, although the position remains open until filled.  The preferred starting date is May 1, 2014, although earlier or later dates can be negotiated.  Purdue University is an Equal Opportunity/Equal Access/Affirmative Action employer fully committed to achieving a diverse workforce.
