The Instituto de Astrofísica de Canarias (IAC, Tenerife, Spain) invites applications for TWO postdoctoral fellowships on “Solar Physics” within the framework of the Severo Ochoa Programme; a prestigious recognition awarded to the IAC in 2012 as a leading research institute in Spain.
The successful candidate is expected to conduct research in one or more of the following topics:
Special attention will be given to candidates with experience in computer modelling of solar physics phenomena, Sun-Earth connection or Helioseismology techniques (global and/or local).
The successful candidates will be based at the IAC's headquarters in La Laguna, in a stimulating and keen working environment, with access to all telescopic and supercomputing facilities in the Canary Islands.
Doctorate: The candidate must hold a PhD in Astrophysics by the submission deadline (31st July 2014).
Remuneration: The gross annual salary is 32.886 €. The position includes a minimum of 2000 Euros for travel (conferences, workshops, observing runs, collaboration stays, etc.)
Duration: One year, starting during the last trimester of 2014, or until 31 December 2015 if the contract starts later than 1 January 2015.
