Applications are invited for a post-doctoral position in High-Energy Astrophysics/X-ray Astronomy.
Expertise in the observation and analysis of X-ray data with emphasis on XMM-Newton is required. It is expected that the applicant will join and partly lead our efforts to study accretion physics in compact binaries. The AIP is one of the core institutes of the upcoming SRG/eROSITA mission and the successful applicant will become a member of the eROSITA collaboration. Review of the applications will start September 1, 2014 and continue until the position is filled.
The initial appointment is for 18 months with a possible extension, depending on available funding. Salary is based on the German public service scale (TV-L) and depends on previous experience. It includes employer contributions to medical insurance, and retirement benefits.
