Postdoctoral Research Assistant I/II
The Physics Department at the University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH) seeks to hire a Postdoctoral Research Assistant to work on galaxy groups and galaxy clusters. The position will mainly involve the analysis of data from XMM/Newton and Chandra, in collaboration with Prof. Ming Sun. The position may also involve the analysis of optical, radio, sub-mm, or IR observations from HST, JVLA, ATCA and ALMA.
Minimum qualifications include a doctoral degree in Physics or Astronomy, up to 2 + years experience with astronomical software and/or computer programming skills and previous experience in any of the fields above. The position is initially for two years, with a possible extension for a third year, subject to performance and availability of funds. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
