POSTDOCTORAL POSITION – UNIVERSITY OF MASSACHUSETTS AMHERST Applications are invited for a postdoctoral research position in observational astrophysics with the TolTEC camera on the Large Millimeter Telescope in the Astronomy Department at the University of Massachusetts Amherst.

The successful candidate will work with Professor Grant Wilson on development, deployment, and data analysis of the TolTEC camera (see http://toltec.astro.umass.edu) as it begins a series of large-scale legacy surveys of the mm-wavelength sky. As a formal member of the TolTEC Project team, you will lead and participate in different aspects of the instrument commissioning and survey science – having access to both the public legacy surveys and to private observing time with TolTEC and other LMT instruments. As a principal author of TolTEC’s data analysis pipeline you will have privileged access to the exciting and wide array of scientific projects undertaken by the camera in its first years of use.

Applicants with experience in data pipeline development, instrumentation, and/or ground or balloon-borne mm-astronomy are encouraged to apply.  The initial position is for two years which may be renewed for a third year subject to performance review.
