The School of Astronomy and Space Science at Nanjing University (NJU) invites applications for two postdoctoral positions to work with Professor Bin-Bin Zhang on gamma-ray bursts and related high-energy astrophysics projects. Research experience with GRBs, FRBs, compact objects, gravitational waves, and multi-messenger astronomy is preferred but not required. Postdoctoral fellows are expected to support and supervise Ph.D. or MSc students, as well as develop their own research programs.
The School of Astronomy and Space Science at NJU has one of the largest and most comprehensive astronomy programs in China. It operates a Near-Infrared Solar Eruption Tracer (ONSET) telescope for solar physics and a Time Domain Observatory (TiDO) for time-domain astronomy. Additionally, the school started constructing the 2.5m Wide-field and High-resolution Solar Telescope (WeHoST) in late 2019. Prof. Bin-Bin Zhang's research group has established extensive international collaborations in the field. More information about the school can be found at https://astronomy.nju.edu.cn/EN/index.html.
The appointment is anticipated to begin as early as March 1st, 2023, but no later than October 2023.
