Job Description

Assistant Professor in Experimental Physics / Experimental Astrophysics

 The Department of Physics at Stanford University seeks applicants for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in any area of experimental physics or experimental astrophysics including new and growing subdisciplines of physics. Applicants should demonstrate the potential to build an outstanding, independent, research program at the forefront of these fields. The appointee should possess good communication skills and a commitment to teaching and mentoring. They will be expected to teach and advise an increasingly diverse cohort of students at both the graduate and undergraduate levels. Applications are welcome from all candidates, including those with backgrounds that are under-represented in the department. The successful candidate must have a Ph.D. or equivalent in a relevant area at the time of appointment, which is expected to begin on September 1, 2023.
