Postdoctoral Scholar

The Institute for Gravitation and the Cosmos is seeking to fill one or more Postdoctoral Scholar positions in theory, computation, and data analysis for multi-messenger astrophysics. 

The successful candidate will work with faculty members at the Institute to develop models of the multi-messenger emission from compact binary mergers, core-collapse supernovae, or tidal disruption events and/or incorporate such models into parameter estimation pipelines. More information about the research groups in the Institute and related departments can be found at Penn State's Institute for Gravitation and the Cosmos, Physics Department, and Astronomy and Astrophysics Department. 

A Ph.D. in physics or astronomy is required. This is a limited-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with possibility of re-funding on a yearly basis for up to three years. The appointment will start in fall 2022. The exact starting date can be flexible.
