Associate Editor - Astronomy Magazine

Kalmbach Media Co. has an outstanding career opportunity for an Associate Editor with Astronomy Magazine.  Due to a recent change, Kalmbach Media is currently seeking an Associate Editor for Astronomy Magazine, the world’s leading title on the subject, and to work in partnership with its sister title, Discover Magazine. These award-winning national science brands are based in our Waukesha office. The Associate Editor will be an editor/writer who knows the science of astronomy and is a self-starter, team player, and energetic person.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Produces and edits stories for the magazine and special issues in a creative, timely manner
• Produces digital content for Astronomy and Discover’s websites
• Produces creative ideas and help to oversee production of science ecommerce products
• A good communicator with other editors

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• A BS degree in physics, astronomy, journalism, or English
• 4 years of experience working on print or digital media
• Experience and knowledge of astronomy and interest in related sciences
• An analytical approach to thinking and problem solving
