Faculty Position in Physics and Astrophysics

The Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) invites applications for a faculty position at the assistant, associate or full professor level, open to all areas of experimental physics and astrophysics instrumentation. The anticipated starting date is July 1, 2021.  The department is seeking outstanding candidates for a tenure-track position with the potential for exceptional research achievement and excellence in teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Outstanding candidates for a tenured appointment will have a commensurate record of exceptional research achievement and excellence in teaching at all levels. The appointee is expected to maintain a vigorous externally funded research program. Candidates must have a strong commitment to, and potential for exceptional achievement in, mentoring students from underrepresented and underserved populations, and for fostering a local climate that is welcoming to diversity. Candidates for a tenured position should additionally have a strong track record of such mentoring and commitment to a welcoming climate. Financial resources, earmarked specifically toward activities fostering a climate welcoming of diversity, will be made available. A Ph.D. or equivalent degree is required. Salary will be commensurate with education and experience.
