Job Summary
Job Description
The department of Steward Observatory seek applicants to fill a Postdoc position in instrumentation, including detector development, spectrograph design, and flight projects working with Prof. Erika Hamden in setting up a new lab and group at the University of Arizona. The applicant will have a leading role in current and new projects including but not limited to:
Developing UV EMCCD detector technology through an ongoing collaboration with JPL.
Development, fabrication, and testing of other detector types including skipper CCDs
Design and proposal writing for new ground and space based spectrographs and missions.
Applicants should have a demonstrated record of success working with detectors/hardware/electronics systems at any wavelength.
This will be a three year assignment.
