Senior Editor - Astronomy

Kalmbach Media is seeking a dynamic & experienced editor/writer who knows the science of astronomy. Self-starter/team player who enjoys working on cutting-edge science. 

JOB DUTIES

This position offers opportunity to create scientific content for digital & print forms for Astronomy magazine & occasionally for its sister title Discover. 

• Produce significant quantity of the magazine & special issues in a creative, timely manner
• Produce substantial digital content for Astronomy & Discover websites
• A good communicator with other editors
• Knowledge base for less experienced editors; willing to share experience & techniques with colleagues

EXPERIENCE

• BS degree in physics, astronomy, journalism, or English
• 5-7 years of experience working on print or digital media
• Experience/knowledge of astronomy and interest in related sciences
• Analytical approach to thinking and problem solving
• A good team player who enjoys working with others
