Applications are invited for a postdoctoral position to work on the measuring the properties and evolution of galaxies through cosmic time, with a particular focus on the Euclid Telescope. The Euclid Space Telescope will carry out detailed surveys, both over a wide coverage of 15,000 deg2 , including several hundred deg2 of deep field imaging and spectroscopy starting around 2022. This position is designed to determine the optical methods for measuring galaxy properties and their evolution using this survey. The successful candidate will work with Professor Christopher Conselice and the Nottingham Astronomy Group. Candidates should hold a BSc/MPhys Degree (or equivalent) in a Physics related subject. Candidates should also have or be expected to shortly obtain a PhD (or equivalent) in astronomy or a closely related subject. Experience working with large astronomical surveys and/or cosmological simulations is essential. This full-time post is available from 2 April 2018 and will be offered on a fixed term contract for roughly one year, with possible extensions for future years depending on funding.
